COOPERSVILLE, Mich.—Downtown Coopersville is ready for Christmas.

The city recently replaced more than 1,200 bulbs on top of the buildings along Main Street.  Commercial grade lights are also wrapped around all the trees lining the street. Jan Richardson with the Downtown Development Authority said the electrical service has also been revamped so the grid can handle all lights on both sides of the street without tripping the breaker.

The lighting was completed in time for the Coopersville holiday parade, which attracted more entries and spectators than the DDA has seen in recent years.  Richardson says it took many people to pull of such a great parade, including Main Street merchants, the Department of Public Works, the Coopersville Area Chamber of Commerce and Larry Hard.
