My Town Coopersville: Red, White and Blue Jam Night honors veterans

COOPERSVILLE, Mich.-- On July 1, Roger Billings greeted guests from Grand Rapids Home for Veterans with patriotic tunes played on his bagpipes.

The veterans arrived at the Coopersville Farm Museum and Event Center to be honored along with other service members during Acoustic Jam Night.  The museum is also featuring a display of art by members of the Home for Veterans through August.

More than 175 people attended the patriotic Jam Night, most wearing red, white and blue. Some visitors dressed in uniform.

Acoustic Jam Night is held the first and third Tuesday of every month at 375 Main Street, from 6 p.m. to  9 p.m. Anyone can sign up to play a song (or two if time allows).  The show is different every time, but this was a very special one with lots of military and patriotic tunes being shared.
