West Michigan shoes grace feet of 'Duck Dynasty' stars, Kate Middleton | Business
Some West Michigan shoes are making the rounds on celebrities’ feet.
On August 3, Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson posed with his wife Korie while sporting a pair of wooden shoes specially created by Nelis’ Dutch Village. The Holland Area Convention & Visitors Bureau commissioned the business to create two pairs of shoes for the A&E stars as part of a thank you gift basket for participating in a VIP event organized by the Zeeland non-profit, Winning at Home and the Berlin Raceway in Marne. The shoes feature the logo of Duck Commander, which is owned and operated by the Robertson family. An employee of Discover Holland says Willie put the shoes on his feet almost immediately and posed for pictures. Duck Commander employee Justin Martin took home the other pair.
Celeste, who designed the custom wooden shoes at Nelis' Dutch Village says she spent about 30 to 45 minutes on each pair. She says she free-handed the design, using a wood burner. Celeste has also created wooden shoes for a variety of stars and dignitaries, including Oprah Winfrey, the late President Gerald R. Ford, Rascal Flatts and Toby Keith. She says the shoes she designed for Keith were among the most elaborate she's created.
Meanwhile, a pair of Sebago Bala shoes were back on the feet of the Dutchess of Cambridge during her first solo sighting since Prince George was born. Popsugar snapped the photo of Kate Middleton, who was shopping in the boat shoes, sold by Rockford based Wolverine Worldwide. According to Fashion Magazine, the shoes are the same ones Middleton wore during her Canada tour back in 2011.
