COOPERSVILLE, Mich.—Scarecrows are taking over Main Street in historic downtown Coopersville.

The first of dozens of scarecrows are expected to appear along the thoroughfare Saturday, September 28.  Organizer Duane Young says he hopes to have 30 to 40 scarecrows on every tree and post by October 5.   Businesses are putting together the scarecrows, which will be voted on by the public.   To cast your vote, visit Daniel’s Hair Salon or the Coopersville Farm Museum and bring a canned good with you.  All of the canned food collected will go to Coopersville Cares to help feed families in need.

The scarecrows will be up through October 31.  If you would like to donate supplies to help build them, email Young at duaneandamyyoung@yahoo.com.
