My Town Coopersville: Drink bottling facility looks to expand

COOPERSVILLE, Mich.—A sports drink manufacturer in Coopersville is getting ready to expand.

Fair Life makes a milk-based athletic drink called Core Power, which was one of the official drinks of the Winter Olympics.  City Manager Steven Patrick says Fair Life already has tens of millions of dollars invested into its bottling facility in Coopersville; the site, located at 999 West Randall Street, started production at the beginning of this year.

The Coopersville Planning Commission approved slight changes to Fair Life’s Phase II expansion plan on Monday.  The plan involves expanding the company’s bottling lines, which will create additional jobs.  Patrick says the city council has also formally approved a $2.4 million grant request to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation connected to the expansion project. Right now, Fair Life is awaiting building permits to begin the expansion project.
