My Town Coopersville: Continental Dairy "cows" help Relay For Life break fundraising goal

COOPERSVILLE, Mich.— Organizers of Relay For Life of Allendale-Coopersville are not only celebrating hitting their goal- but more than doubling it.

This past weekend, nearly two dozen teams raised just under $64,000.  Chloe Pakalnis with Continental Dairy Facilities says the original community goal was $30,000.

Continental Dairy was pivotal in raising funds for this year’s Relay For Life, holding a competitive cow milking fundraiser during the day of the event.  The company also put one of its supervisors in “jail”, forcing him to raise $20 to get free.  Earlier this year, Continental Dairy also raised money for Relay For Life with the help of a “herd.”   The cardboard cows moved from yard to yard, based on property owner donations.
