Fair Oaks Farms Brands picked for state grant to build new facility

130 new jobs coming to Coopersville

A $900,000 state grant to help boost economic development and job creation in the region was awarded to Fair Oaks Farms Brands in Coopersville, state Rep. Roger Victory announced.

The business incentive grant will help the company construct a new facility to manufacture nutritionally enhanced milk, adding approximately 130 jobs for local workers.

Michigan was chosen over competing sites in New York, Pennsylvania and Indiana.

"I'm pleased that Fair Oaks Farms Brands chose Michigan to expand its operations and is investing in our region," said Victory, R-Hudsonville. "Michigan is the comeback state and is now a very competitive place to do business, bringing large companies like Fair Oaks Farms to our area. I want to congratulate everyone who has been working on this project and I look forward to the job creation and industry that is coming to our community because of it."

Fair Oaks Farms Brands, Inc. is a cooperative of dairy farmers in the upper Midwest.

The $900,000 grant will supplement the total $127 million project investment.

The grant is part of the Michigan Business Development Program, which is a business attraction and economic gardening initiative, supported by the Michigan Strategic Fund.
