Free program helps home and business owners deal with mercury

(ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY COMPANY)– The Environmental Quality Company is proud to partner with The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Mercury Collection Project.

This is an on-going effort to collect and properly recycle mercury.  Small and large business operations have traditionally been overlooked during mercury collection events.  The project’s objective is to address this issue and promote a long-term solution for easily collecting and recycling of mercury.  The program is free to anyone located in Michigan – residents included.

The program is easy.

Urgent Message from the Sewer Department

Urgent Message from the Sewer Department

From: http://www.cityofcoopersville.com/

Beginning on Monday, August 13th and continuing through approximately the end of September, Plummer’s Environmental Services will be cleaning the City’s main sewer lines.

When cleaning these lines, pressure is forced through the main sewers.  If a sewer vent within your home or business is plugged, the gases will release through any open vent, floor drain or toilet.

As a precautionary measure, the City recommends that you keep toilet lids closed when not in use; water in traps and a wet cloth over the floor drain.  A plumbing service can assist you in determining whether your vents are opened and clean of any debris.

If you have any questions, please call the sewer department for the City at 997-9731.
