Renovations planned for Coopersville City Hall

COOPERSVILLE, Mich.—Coopersville City Hall may soon change.

City Manager Steven Patrick says the proposed renovations would include installing a large window in the lobby area. Visitors would also be able to take care of typical tasks in the lobby area, cutting down on wait times.  Patrick says the city is also considering installing a door buzzer for those with confidential issues that require more one-on-one time, fostering a more private atmosphere while increasing security.

City Hall will remain open during the renovation process.  Patrick hopes to get the window installed by January; he’d like to have renovations completed by the end of April 2014.  Funding for the project would come from the city’s general fund; Patrick says the city has already set aside some money for the renovation project.

Coopersville City Hall is located at 289 Danforth St.  Patrick says decades ago, the building was home to the city’s library.
