Woman arraigned in fatal I-96 wrong-way crash from July

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) The woman who investigators say caused a fatal wrong-way crash on I-96 this past summer has been arraigned.

Heather Luke has officially been charged with Operating while Intoxicated Causing Death and Manslaughter with a Motor Vehicle. She is currently out on bond until her next court hearing on March 2nd.

Luke was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-96 in Wright Township on July 10th about 7:30pm when she struck a minivan driven by William Alfred Foster, 52, of Wyoming, head-on. Foster's van burst into flames and he was killed at the scene. Luke was also seriously injured in the crash and was flown by AeroMed to Spectrum Hospital.
