Allendale man in serious condition after crash

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM)- An Allendale man is in serious condition, after crashing his car into another driver in Coopersville.

It happened on 68th Avenue near Leonard street around 11 p.m. Friday.

Ottawa County Deputies say 28 year old Ernest Hamstra was driving his Grand Prix southbound on 68th Avenue, when he crossed over the center line. They say he hit a 50 year old Muskegon driver coming northbound on 68th street.

Hamstra was pinned in his car for some time. Police say he was not wearing his seatbelt. Hamstra was taken to Spectrum Butterworth and was listed in serious condition. The 50 year old driver was also taken to Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, and is listed in stable condition. He was wearing his seatbelt.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash.
