COOPERSVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) -- Deputies in Ottawa County want to find a driver involved in a possible case of road rage.

Our partner the Grand Haven Tribune reports two teenagers from Grand Rapids were injured in the crash Wednesday night on I-96 near Coopersville.

Deputies say Jeremy Payne was heading east when another driver pulled up next to him, stared at him and then pulled in front of his car and slammed on the brakes.

Payne lost control and hit the guardrail near 96th Avenue.

"I was like, 'Why was he looking at me?'" Payne told WZZM 13. "He went about four feet in front of me and slammed on his brakes. ...If he was mad, which he obviously was, he could have done something else. He could have honked, or anything else than what he did."

Payne's passenger was taken to the hospital and treated for a concussion.

Meanwhile, police are looking for the other driver. He's described as an older man with gray hair, driving a newer Buick.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office at 616-738-4000 or Silent Observer at this link.
