Summerfest's Del Shannon car show this weekend

Coopersville's Summerfest celebration is underway. The six-day festival began on Monday with the Miss Coopersville Scholarship Pageant and will run through Saturday's Del Shannon car show.

Friday will offer a preview of some of the show's featured vehicles with the Del Shannon car cruise. Starting at 6 p.m., visitors will be able to line the streets as an estimated 400 classic cars from every era slowly rumble past. Then, on Saturday morning, nearly 800 cars and motorcycles will pack Main Street for the mile-long car show. Although the car show's awards will not be presented until 3 p.m., there will be raffles, activities, and entertainment all day.
