Jump Start Program a Success

Jump Start Program a Success
The JumpStart! program awards student's achievements.  These energetic  participants of the Jump Start! program arrived at school early each morning four days per week to participate in the fun fitness program.  On Mondays and Wednesdays they ran laps around the gym as part of the Mileage Club.  Our highest mileage this year was run by siblings Kenny Bates (61.25 miles) and Aubrey Bates (59.33 miles)!  All runners kept track of their weekly laps and were awarded prizes throughout the year.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays the kids exercised in various ways such as rotating to the fitness stations at the JumpZone!

Helping a Friend in Need

Helping a Friend in Need

COOPERSVILLE, MI - After hearing that her friend and co-worker Julie Morris was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Renee Braxmaier knew she wanted to help. In order to make her donation go further, Renee purchased flower pots and using her painting skills turned a small investment into a large donation for Julie. Single mom Julie Morris (Middle School food service worker) was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and is without medical insurance. Julie is struggling to make all the payments associated with the treatment of cancer. That is when Renee got busy and sold hand painted pots for a minimum donation of $25.  These hand painted pots sold like hotcakes and turned a small investment into a donation of over $1,000.00! Thank you to everyone who purchased a pot to help the cause! She couldn't have done it without you!

Feeding the Masses

Feeding the Masses

COOPERSVILLE, MI - It is not easy feeding over 2,000 hungry kids, but these gals do it day after day and do it with great ease. Feeding the students of Coopersville Area Public Schools breakfast and lunch each day. Some students choose to eat breakfast and lunch at school, while others eat only lunch at school. Some of the more popular items are: Whole Grain Breaded Chicken Nuggets, Pizza, Panini’s (in the High School), Mini Corn Dogs, Walking Tacos, Mashed Potato Bowls, popcorn chicken, mashed potatoes, seasoned corn and chicken gravy, Boscos and Cheesy Breadsticks are a favorite which we limit to once a week  with the new nutrition standards, and in the middle school and high school the made to order sandwich bar is really a big hit.
