Last Night of Line Dancing Tonight

Tonight is the last night of Line Dancing with Helen Walters at the Coopersville Farm Museum until the Fall. The farm is also looking for another instructor to fill in while Helen travels with her horses. Anyone interested can call 616-997-8555 and talk to Museum Director Lee Ann Creager, Museum Director.

Bunny Train Begins Again on Saturday

The Bunny Train is hopping again starting this Saturday, March 16, 2013 on the Coopersville & Marne Railway. Passengers will take a one hour and twenty minute excursion through the Spring Time country-side. The Easter Bunny and her cast of musical characters perform in each of the cars. The train's "Springtime Princess" will also read children's books and lead the passengers in springtime songs. Kids receive a surprise at the end of the ride, and they may also see other bunnies out the train windows.

The cost of the train is $15.50 for aduls, $14.50 for Seniors (60+), Kids (2-12) are $13.50, and kids younger than two years old are free.

Soccer Coaches Needed for FC Ridge League

Recreational Soccer Club FC Ridge is looking for Head Coaches and Assistance Coaches. FC Ridge is a Sparta-based organization aimed at providing a well balanced and educational soccer experience for those who live in West Michigan’s Fruit Ridge area and surrounding communities, such as Rockford, Cedar Springs, Kent City, Casnovia, Walker, Coopersville and other nearby communities. It was previously known as Sparta Youth Soccer Assoc.

Walker Recreation Department is in full swing for sign-ups for Co-ed Youth Soccer teams.

Boys & Girls, ages 5-13 are encouraged to sign up. The cost is as follows:

5 & 6 yr old age group: Walker resident: $20, non-resident: $30

7-8, 9-10 & 11-13 yr old age group: Walker resident: $30, non-resident $40

Deadline sign-up for all ages are Thursday, February 28, 2013.

Coopersville C'Ville Chill - 5K Run - Feb 23

The C’Ville Chill... the annual race in Coopersville is open for registration. The race benefits Coopersville Area Running Program (CAPS).

When: 2/23/2013 at 10:00 a.m. Sharp!
Where: Coopersville High School
Who: Runners and Walkers of all ages and abilities. Age group awards are 9 and under, 10-14, and then five year brackets to age 75 and over. There is also a 200 meter kids run at 10:45 for the kids age 9 and under. All finishers will receive a ribbon.

This event is a qualifying event for the Bridge Run and it is endorsed by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.

Co-Ed teams play on Monday nights Men’s teams play Wednesday or Thursday nights. First choice goes to returning teams. If there is enough interest Women’s teams will play on Tuesday nights.

$350.00 per team if paid in full by April 10. $375.00 after 10 April.

Complete the team commitment form and return with registration fee to Adult Softball 289 Danforth, Coopersville Michigan. Rules and team rosters will be sent upon receipt of team commitment form.

Price includes 12 game schedule and umpires. Teams provide their own balls.

Season begins first Monday in May weather permitting.

Games are played at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30 or 9:30.

Hello Soccer Families. We are gearing up for Spring 2013 Outdoor Soccer Season. Hard to believe since we have not even experienced winter as of yet. Sign-ups for the spring outdoor season have begun! Below are the times and locations.
